As the rally was wrapping up, the crowd began chanting "MARCH! MARCH! MARCH!..." and that's just what we did. At first, winding through the sidewalks of the Loop, but as we reached State Street, we took over the 2 northbound lanes and followed all the way to Wacker, across the MIchigan Ave. Bridge and then up the Mag Mile itself. It was amazing to be weaving in and out of stopped cars and even more so when some of those people were honking in favor of the cause and leaning out and hi-fiving us as we passed.
I was so proud to be walking hand in hand with my boyfriend of almost 10 years and to show people that we ain't so scary. We gave up as we turned around and started going back south on Michigan since we were then only allowed on the sidewalk. And we were starving.
