I Don't Think I Dislike Amy Sedaris Anymore

I rented "Strangers With Candy-- The Movie" this weekend and LOVED it. What I loved more was her commentary -- along with Stephen Colbert and Paul Dinello -- during the movie.

And this pic -- it is something I would so do. Amputees BEWARE!

Please don't hate me for being so fickle about her. I may change my mind again. But for now, I like her.

it was a great movie. not as good as the show, but movies about tv shows never are as good.

i agree. it had a totally different vibe than the tv show.

i found all the guest stars a lil distracting too. i could care less that sarah jessica parker or philip seymour hoffman are in it.

I don't know! You're totally not supposed to change your mind! This makes me want to unsubscribe but then maybe resubscribe later!

It's an "Entertaining Book," giving lessons on how to host parties for your friends, strangers, old people...or just you by your lonesome.

Borders may still have it for 30% off...but why not support Barnes and Noble? It's the holiday pick for the Evanston store!

Aaaannnddd I totally knew you'd start liking the Amy.

The book is great. Its mostly really good entertaining tips with bits of hilarity thrown in.
And, its kind of like a decoder ring into her humor-- you know how she would go on talk shows and we thought she was kind of like Andy Kaufman and the joke was on us?
The book in some way explains her point of view and will make it funny next time she's on Letterman in a 50's party dress showing off her collection of squirrel pepper shakers.

devee loves him some amy sedaris. the movie was excellent. it wasn't better than the series but it was as good as the series. it was basically like three missing episodes rather than a movie. i think that was the intention. i do agree that the guest stars added nothing, though. sarah jessica parker was not funny AT ALL, nor was philip seymour hoffman. BUT, I heart allison janney and thought she made total sense. i also agree with noah on her new book.

i heard from a very reliable source that paul dinello is not gay and in fact diddled amy's hoo-ha (aka vijay-jay).

Paul isn't gay - he and Amy were together for a long time including most of their time at Second City. Nowadays they make a lot of appearances together as if they are a couple, but reportedly not together anymore.

I also think he is a LOT less gay in real life - and more cocky asshole vibe. But then again, he might have been in a bad mood the night I saw him.

Patrick - glad you've hopped on the band wagon. And that you've started to enjoy Amy.

I LOVE HER!

Her book is brilliant. My favorite quote is as follows:

Take a look at your vagina. Is it special? Would people be impressed?

I love it!
