I Don't Know What to Think of Amy Sedaris
Let me say this straight-away: I "heart" Jeri Blank from "Strangers With Candy." She might be one of my favorite characters of all time. I just don't know how I feel about Amy Sedaris -- the lady that plays her.
I think she might be a bit odd -- which is fine cuz I am a bit odd. But every time I see her on David Letterman or the Daily Show or anywhere for that matter as herself, I am always a little skittish about her.
Help me, readers. Please. Am I over-reacting? Do you think Amy would be a good friend? Or is she coo-coo for cocoa puffs?

Pattycakes I agree. Love the Jerri Blank, always puzzled by the Amy Sedaris in person. She's so cracky. And I mean that in a totally nonjudgemental way, by which I mean she's a freak. :)

Pitter Patter - I have to agree with you on this one. I know that all you fags go crazy for her. And she is pretty good in Strangers. But, I just don't know about her either. she hasn't marketed herself the best or made the best decisions, and she is just sorta hit or miss to me.
Oh come on. What makes you uncomfortable is called "edge" and that's what makes Miss Amy a genius and not a chain-store clown.

i think what makes you uneasy is that she's real. when she interviews on letterman or with jon stewart she's not "on". she's just being her regular crazy self. she's not concerned with making a great impression or whatever because i don't think that being famous is what's important to her.
but i could be completely wrong and she could be addicted to crack rock.

But still a love hate relationship because she makes me laugh from time to time, but again, a screw loose. Did you ever see her on Colbert Report? It was hysterical and yet hard to watch.

she ended up pretty much the way most of us predicted, I mean watching her grow up while her dad was president I really thought, "gees, that poor Amy looks kinda weird..." and then all those years helping strangers build those houses, talk about drudgery.... I feel kind of sorry for her really.
I'm gonna have to agree wih robbie, sebastian, and brett. I LOVE HER. she is a genius. probably borderline cra-cra, but that's where the inspired humor comes from. LOVE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amy is completely nuts. That's what I love most about her. I mean... who... in recent memory can you call up in NYC, leave a request on her answering machine and she'll personally bake you cupcakes (if she's in town)? Seriously. I don't care if she's completely batty... her cupcakes is good.
