I don't know why I didn't mention this before (when you first posted this Markie Post), but...
back in 1997, when UCLA's chancellor retired, they had a big, retarded party/concert for him -- I was selected to perform a couple of musical numbers, set up to reflect 'student life' (insert standard musical theatre fag joke here).
Also featured in this sh!t-tacular revue were a couple of 'celebs' who were involved with the university's fundraising at the time.
Yes, you guessed it: I got to meet John Lithgow (and at the height of his “Third Rock From the Sun” glory, and everything!).
Oh, and Markie Post was in the show, too. She was actually really, REALLY cool. Most of the evening’s celebs and dignitaries (like the guy who negotiated the S.A.L.T. Treaties) ignored the group of student performers, but not Markie! She hung out with us backstage – we all talked about school, musical theatre and the lame dresses some of the ladies in the audience were wearing. Overall, she was one of the coolest celebrities I’ve met (and I’ve met a ton of ‘em). It is a shame a cool-@ss chick like her doesn’t get more acting work.
Anyway, just wanted to share this… not like you pay attention to me, or anything, but maybe Markie will just be doing a Google search for her name and find this story… and smile.
